a little bit about the coach
My name is Anna. I’m 24 years old and live in South Shore MA with my fiancé and our 2-year-old german shepherd, Koda. I’m at my happiest working on all things house projects and yard work, and I love music, concerts, cooking, spending time with my family, and travel. I work in higher-ed by day, and a recent graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Health Coach training program. I absolutely adore my day job and love what I do, but my true passion lies in health and wellness, whole foods, and mental health. For me, it all started when my mom attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) back in 2008. She participated in the program back when it was in-person in New York City, and began the program after my uncle passed from a gastrointestinal cancer only a few years prior. Her goal was to educate herself more about nutrition and overall health and wellness in an effort to bring back her knowledge to better our family’s overall nutrition and understanding of food. She wanted to know how food affected the body, and what we could do to take control of our health. What is in our food? How does it affect us, both physically and mentally? How can food change our lives?
IIN has changed my life in so many ways — and I couldn’t be more thankful my mom took a leap of faith. The knowledge she’s gained and provided me with, has benefitted me and my health in numerous ways, and it’s the reason I decided to take that same leap of faith last year, when I enrolled in IIN. It had always been in the back of my mind — being a health coach, learning more about nutrition and balanced wellness, and being able to share that knowledge with others, as well as with my future family and children. So here we are. The knowledge I’ve gained in this program has been deeply beneficial to me, and the last year I’ve been a sponge: soaking up every video, handout, live training, coaching circle, practice session, ted talk, etc. that has been thrown my way. I can’t wait to dive into this journey with you — meeting you wherever you are.
what even is a health coach?
Discover how to nourish, heal, and thrive in all aspects of your life. Health and Wellness Coaches (or simply Health Coaches) are wellness experts and mentors who help others feel their best through personalized diet and lifestyle changes. Health Coaches work with clients to help them discover the best wellness routines that work for them and empower them to meet their unique health goals.
what i offer as a coach
There’s never been more information available on how to live a healthy lifestyle and eat a healthy diet, but why are people still confused about what to do? You likely know firsthand that one Google search for “Is X healthy?” will get you tons of conflicting answers. I know how frustrating that can be. Where do I start? Is paleo good or bad? Should I go vegan? Low carb or high protein? Both?
My goal as a health coach is to give my clients the knowledge, skills, tools and confidence they need to participate fully in their own care and well-being. My goal is to emphasize health beyond the plate by focusing on nourishment through primary foods, one of IIN's core curriculum concepts that means there are areas of your life that impact your short- and long-term health just as much as the food you eat — such as your relationships, career, spirituality, physical activity, and environment.
I am here to guide you, not instruct you. I am here to guide you toward a sustainable food plan and lifestyle changes by equipping you with the mental and emotional tools to achieve great health, such as how to find the foods and lifestyle practices that work for you.
